What it is
An aspect is the angular distance between two points in a chart, measured around the circle of the zodiac. Astrology pays attention to a handful of specific angles. The five classical ones are the conjunction (0°, together), the opposition (180°, across), the square (90°), the trine (120°) and the sextile (60°).
Each angle carries a traditional tone. Conjunctions blend two planets into one voice. Oppositions set them face to face, often as a tension between two needs. Squares are read as friction that demands effort. Trines and sextiles are the easy flows — talents you barely notice because they come without struggle.
Aspects are rarely exact. Astrologers allow a margin called an orb, usually a few degrees, so a square at 87° still counts. The tighter the angle, the more weight it is given.
Why it matters for daily reflection
Aspects are where a chart stops being a list and becomes a story. "Moon in Aries" says one thing; "Moon in Aries square Saturn" says that quick feeling and slow caution live in the same person and keep interrupting each other. That is a pattern you can recognise on an ordinary Wednesday.
They also describe the day. When today's Moon forms an aspect to a planet in your birth chart, something in you is being addressed — briefly. Watching what actually happens on those days, rather than what you expected, is the whole practice.
In Lunara
Aspects between today's Moon and your birth chart are part of what Lunara reads when it composes your single daily Signal. Your basic natal chart is included free, and the daily loop — Signal, one intention, one small step, an evening Echo — is the same for everyone. Over days, the Resonance Map is where you see which contacts kept answering in real life.
